Murdoch University Legal Hackathon

The 2018 Legal Hackathon is the first of its kind to be held at Murdoch University, in the LaunchPad - a co-working space designed for students to collaborate. The event is being run as part of the Students as Change Agents for Learning and Teaching program. 

This event is aimed at students with the following skill set (but not limited to): 

• Application development
• Law
• Criminology
• Marketing
• Programming
• Web design

Students from the School of Law, School of IT, and School of Management & Governance will work together in interdisciplinary teams to create innovative solutions that solve deficiencies in the legal industry. 

Students will be presented with problems facing the business of law, or issues surrounding access to justice and will work together to create a product, service or program that will solve these problems. 

Teams will be mentored by industry professionals and be given the opportunity to pitch to a panel of lawyers, entrepreneurs, and consultants and battle it out for prizes. Prizes will be awarded to the Best Idea and the Best Pitch!! 

The Hackathon will run from the 24th of August (8.30am - 7.30pm) to the 25th of August (8.30am - 7.30pm). Students are expected to be available for both days.
