Build homes, end homelessness.jpg

Western Australia has over 9000 homeless people. Meanwhile housing prices continue to skyrocket, employment rates stagnate, the welfare system is being gutted, and public housing is disappearing. Australia is one of the wealthiest countries in the world, and solutions are available to end homelessness.

While we welcome the McGowan State Government's 10-Year Strategy on Homelessness, 10 years is too long to wait for many people experiencing the harsh reality of the streets. Real changes to the economy and society need to be made in order for homelessness to end. Come along to the Murdoch Uni Tavern at 6pm, on Wednesday the 10th of October for a night of music, movies, and discussions!

Program:
6pm- Live music by Elephants Will Inherit The Earth.
6:30pm- Short film on homelessness.
7pm- Discussion with Alan Bateson from the Australian Unemployed Worker's Union, and Vlad Bychkov from the Murdoch Communist and Socialist Society.
